Pictorial: Riding the East Bay Bike Path In Rhode Island
Last modified 6 hours, 23 minutes ago.
On August 27th, 2025, I road the East Bay Bike Path in Rhode Island.
I started at the top of the path at India Point Park on the east side of Providence, Rhode Island. I rode for about 2.5 hours and 30 miles round trip, on an old-school Italian steel road bicycle (a lot of adjectives there, I know).
I recommend it!
The last time I road the path was about 20 years ago.
Since then, it’s still been well maintained and just as beautiful as before. Best times are probably spring, as well as August and September. Fall and winter will probably be too cold. Peak summer weather—July mainly, will leave you needing to make extra stops for water. (I don’t mind tough weather, but I know some people do).
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photos from my trip today. If you’re ever in Rhode Island road bicycling, let me know, and we can get a leisurely fitness ride in.
Photo order:
The pictures are in order of when I bumped into the scene along the path.
Let's begin!
Starting off the route . . .
Heading over the bridge and out of Providence . . .
There'll be wonderful views as you ride along . . .
Finding some civilization again in Riverside (ice-cream shops, restaurants, some fun places to go). . .
You'll find a lot of nice spots where you could stop, rest, and have a picnic, like at Brickyard Pond . . .
I'm a little jealous of the people who have these quaint homes right off of the path. . .
Hitting Barrington, Rhode Island (Starbucks in the background). . .
Ah, road construction! (A common site in Rhode Island). . .
Bicycle emergency? You've got a bicycle shop about halfway down the path. . .
More parks. . .
Continuing along (enjoy the view). . .
On the homestretch. God, what a view!
Little beach restaurant near the end here in Bristol, Rhode Island. . .
At the end in Bristol. Getting ready to ride back. (Wear your helmet, folks). . .
