Interesting (and random) notes:
- At Fort Georgia until mid-May. As a coworker said, ‘I’ll miss the clowns, but not the circus.’ Looking forward to leaving Georgia.
- Fitness is going well. I will write about the strides and insights I’ve made in recent months. Above all, I have persevered.
- Time and energy have been at a premium, which is why I haven’t been able to post much here. This summer I will have control over my schedule and be able to prioritize writing articles and producing meaningful content.
- Physical-therapy work. I am looking to go to physical-therapy assistant (PTA) school. I could go for physical-therapy school proper, but there’s no need to go to those lengths. PTA would be a nice complement to my professional plans and goals.
- Website rusty. I think I've gotten a little rusty with working on my site! I gotta get back to it!
- Training philosophy. I have adjusted major paradigms in my fitness thinking. This is natural, given how long I’ve been practicing this. A major change would be that I’m emphasizing the fundamentals even more, while focusing far more on outcomes, not mechanisms (as Layne Norton espouses). I just can’t justify bothering with methods or practices that don’t produce a nice return. I’ve wasted too much time worried about mechanisms, while not getting the fruitful outcomes that I would like. Also, I invested too much in classical high-intensity training (HIT) philosophy and practices. More on all of this in the coming months and posts.
- Two-year "comeback" journal. I spent two years journaling specifically about how I was working to revolutionize my professional life and career. Well, it's been two years. Now it's time to take a hard look at all my thoughts and musings and reflect on what's happened. Did I get where I wanted to be? Not really. But I need to take a closer look and reflect on what moral victories were had, too.
- Let me know how you’re doing. Email me at info@ds-hf.com. Would be glad to hear from you.
