Questions Worth Asking and (Really) Answering
Last modified 2 weeks, 3 days ago.
A good question can change everything, especially if you come up with a good answer.
Heck, a good answer could even be, “I don’t know.”
Our journeys have to start somewhere, right? With a thought. A question. A spark from within. Something has to be the seed for growth.
Here are some questions I find very helpful:
- What’s possible?
- If I look back in five years (or more), what would I want to be able to say about myself?
- If I don’t change, what will I feel in five years (or more)? Will there be regret and frustration?
- Am I prioritizing taking care of my own needs?
- Is what I am doing really capable of making me happy–and in the long run, too?
- Is my concern to be right or to be effective? What would be a win for me?
There are so many questions that we can ask ourselves.
Writing Deliberately and Effectively
We can take the time to answer a reflective question seriously. Write down all your thoughts. Get it all on paper. Then rewrite it, then re-rewrite that, too. Take your time. Organize all of your thoughts, hopes, concerns, and anxieties. Do this regularly for about 30-60 minutes per day for a few months. See what happens with the perspective, clarity, and awareness that you develop.
What are some questions that have worked for you? What's the impact that deliberate writing and journaling have had on your life?
Wishing you the best.
