All It Takes Is One Good Friend To Change Your World

All it takes is one good friend to change your world.
I do not enjoy exploring the world much by myself. I feel alienated when I do. I can feel like an alien from another planet.
I tried… many times. I still do. But looking back on my life, one good friend often made all the difference.
It’s a lot different experiencing a new park, neighborhood, city, or activity with someone you feel connected to.
I don’t feel like I need many friends. It really is quality over quantity for me.
I remember living in Florida, I didn’t have a stadium of friends, nor do I use social media much (if at all) for validation. But the friends and connections I did have, well, it was more than enough for me. I felt at home.
That’s a nice feeling.
It’s not just exploring that can feel empty without kindred spirits. Just being on this planet can feel dull without those special people. I think we’re meant for connection as human beings. Connection, not dependency, that is. I believe it allows me to feel human.
That’s a nice feeling, too.
