Weekend notes:
Over the weekend (9/20 & 9/21), I was on duty exercising and moving (a lot). The weekend included running, sprinting, and a lot of other strenuous movement and exercise. Technically, this was day 3 of last week and day 1 of this week, but I didn’t include them in the journal formally.
09/23/2025, Tu, Day 01
Routine:
Total time: 90 minutes
90-second intervals–30-min (15-min steady-state running warm-up, then 90sec on, 90sec off, followed by another 10-min steady-state running cool-down)
Weighted walk–30-min (25-pound vest)
Notes:
- Taking advantage of the good weather still available here in New England. Did the intervals outdoors on a running trail.
- I feel confident. I was galloping along again. My throat was scratchy and I didn’t feel well, but I was able to work through it just fine.
- This needs to be a more-intense week. So, I’m looking to get two more tough workouts in this week, then roll it back in the coming weeks.
Day 2 and Day 3: Cancelled due to illness
Notes:
- On Tuesday, I felt myself becoming ill. I went running anyway. I wanted to push myself and work through it. By Wednesday and Thursday, I was feeling really under the weather. I couldn't train intensely. I went for walks. Stretched and mobilized. But I mainly took it easy. I will be back to it on Sunday. This Mesocycle ends on October 10th. From now until then, I will keep getting brief (30-45 minute) training sessions in, while keeping up the intensity. This is so I'm not overtrained, because I have big challenges coming up through the winter.
